The Japanese Beatles invaded this last summer here in Ohio.  The pattern of embroidery on this piece reflects the skeletonized leaves they left behind.  I’m really enjoying to opportunity to slowly meditatively stitch.  I’ve been focusing on a slower artistic process and I’m really appreciating the results.

Ecoprinted with maple, rose leaf, cotinus, lady’s mantle, catalpa, tea, and annatto seed.  Embroidered with cotton sashiko thread dyed with Japanese indigo.
